ABOUT US
Once through the gate you are still in the woods
The dirt road curves gently and the descent finally opens up to the pasture which, at an altitude of 600 meters, dominates the lower valley of the river Tiber. Your attention is drawn to the magnificence of the woods in the foreground which envelop the silhouette of Todi which, at an altitude of 400 meters, remains the millenary witness to the history of Umbria.
The scent of the brooms
The scent of the brooms, especially in May, is intoxicating, its intense yellow, transcending hope and creativity, blends perfectly with the lilac of the lavender and the green of the lawn that surrounds the house. Anyone arriving here, even if they are locals accustomed to such beauty, cannot fail to be enchanted and fascinated by such a vista and by the serenity that such a view brings.
It was this sensation, which you get every time you arrive here, that gave the house its name: from the ancient Greek, Pausilypon, or place where pain ceases, the Poggio took the name of Posillipo.
The first records date back to the 1700s
The south-east wall is still the orginal. The hillock was first served by a mule track, which has been brought back to light and is visible to the southeast, where tomato crops, orchards and finally cattle breeding have alternated over the centuries. In the last century it also served as a local quarry, the stones of which went into building the house and the columns of the entrance gate.
The house was completed and modernized in 2015
With the redesign of the ground floor, the restoration of the loggia on the first floor, which is now a jardin d'hiver, and the construction of the infinity pool and the tennis court. The house features large rooms furnished in a modern and comfortable style with furniture, sofas and lamps from New York.
The garden, plumbing and carpentry work were all completed by talented local craftsmen.
